…rollin’ over Germany day one – Bochum total
… it has happened. After the first photo shoots in Hamburg and a lot of preparations the first FACE THE JUGEND tour has started today.
It took around four hours to get from Hamburg to Bochum, a city in the Ruhr district of Germany, which was famous for its coal mining. Until today, I have been only familiar with the way from the central train station to the football stadium. I took many times when my team played here. I have never heard of the “Bermudadreieck”. But today this has been the place to be.
The “Bermudadreieck” is an area directly in the centre of Bochum with a lot of bars and clubs. Once per year it is the venue for the biggest European free music festival, the BOCHUM TOTAL. This year, 450000 persons have visited the festival. ABRAMOWICZ, RED CITY RADIO, THE TOASTERS, THE PROSECUTION and RANTANPLAN have been the most interesting bands for the TURBOJUGEND. Sadly none of these bands has played during my visit on Friday. But I have not come here to listen to music, I have been here to have a blast with Jugendliche and take some great pictures.
For this shoot I have collaborated with TURBOJUGEND BOCHUM. The chapter was founded first in 2005 and res-erected by the current members in 2012. Currently, Turbojugend Bochum consists of seven, very active members who organizes parties and get together with all the other chapters in the Ruhr district. So it has been not surprising at all that today various other chapters have joined us.
We have met at the central train station and started with the pictures for the sticker album. After getting some cold drinks at a Kiosk and taken various group pictures, we explored the party area. Thanks to the hot temperatures of 35 degrees Celsius, a lot of persons stood today in their cold homes and the festival was luckily not so too crowded.
We have had a blast with eating, drinking, listing to music and act like fools with our new give-aways.
By the way, it needs ten Euro to get a “Ruhrpott”- Jugendlichen to drink some water from a paddling pool a lot of people cooled their feeds and other thinks in…
It was 10 p.m. when the music on the main stage stopped. Due to the heat, I felt exhausted like after the second day of WTJT. After walking around for a while, the rest of us decided to spend the rest of the night at the president’s place and relax a bit with some cold drinks.
I thank TJ BOCHUM’s president DOC DANGER for his hospitality and taking care about the FTJ shoot. I also have to say thanks for the music CDs that helped with surviving the trip to my next stop in GEMMERICH. DOC DANGER is working for CT RADIO and has his own show called “this is a call” every Tuesday between 8 and 9 p.m. If you are in the area turn the radio on 90,0MHz or listen to the internet stream worldwide.
Ahoi! from Hamburg
